Houseboat summary
The boat, named 'Frederiek' (which is a classic Dutch girls name), is a 8.5m long classic Dutch flatboat. Stay moored, or explore the waters; it's up to you, since you don't need a license to drive this boat. The boat can accommodate up to four persons. The Frederiek is moored next to a farm in the North-Holland province, just outside the picturesque village of Driehuizen in the natural reserve of 'De Eilandspolder'. When you drive the boat only half an hour, you will reach the Alkmaardermeer, a lake with many sights and harbors to attend.
Also, some small lovely villages can be reached, such as Grootschermer, De Rijp, and West-Graftdijk. It is also possible to reach Alkmaar and Amsterdam with the Frederiek. You can enjoy the canals of Amsterdam from your authentic flatboat!
Of course, you can also choose to stay moored, and just gently float with the amazing Dutch scenery in the background... Besides the mooring location mentioned above, you can also choose to moor the boat at Eilandje de Woude, on the Alkmaardermeer.
Fuel cost are 6 euro a hour
Houseboat description
The Frederiek can accommodate four persons. There are two double beds available. The kitchenette is simple but efficient, with two pits, a sink, and cutleries. Towels and linen are also provided aboard the Frederiek. In the closet you'll find multiple boardgames and books, but the Frederiek also lends itself perfectly for doing completely nothing; you can even take the rubber boat out to float in the water. We would love to welcome you aboard!
